Eco Tourism / Biologist Teacher Internship
« Back to JobsTiamo is currently offering an intern position with our Nature Concierge Team. This five-month intern position requires a natural science or biology degree and involves leading guests on eco tours of the incredible natural wonders of South Andros Island and helping Tiamo pursue the conservation of this amazing island through our education of both guests and locals. Applicants must be comfortable in social situations and be confident at both public speaking and interacting with small but diverse groups of people.
Duties will include: Leading kayak, snorkel and hiking trips while using appealing education to enlighten guests about the various ecosystems and their importance to the island. Assisting with our reef monitoring protection program. Assisting with various sustainability aspects of the resort operation such as energy and water consumption monitoring, the recycling program, etc. Assisting with Tiamo’s ongoing effort to educate our staff and the local community on the benefits of sustainable tourism and conservation. Assisting with trail maintenance and creation. Attending and socializing with guests at various key parts of the day including the morning “meet and greet" and the Tiamo Happy Hour each evening. Each intern is also asked to leave a “Legacy” or project of specific interest to benefit Tiamo and our guests through the sharing of information or improvements to current sustainability aspects of the property.
