Consider these 3 things when staying at Staniel Cay Yacht Club

When you have limited time for a vacation

This is not your ‘snobby’ mainland yacht club environment

Sometimes it is hard to decide where to go when you have limited time for a vacation. However, (in Staniel Cay, Exuma) provides numerous options for travelers that want to experience the laidback island life of The Bahamas without any boredom. Staniel Cay Yacht Club has cozy waterfront cottages, overlooking the calm waters of a beautiful bay, and a bar and restaurant with social camaraderie.

Sandbars, sharks, and swimming pigs…oh my

Water activities are plentifully at and surrounding Staniel Cay Yacht Club. Take the short boat ride to Thunderball Cave, where the James Bond movie Thunderball was filmed. Swimming or snorkeling in this underwater cave features colorful sea sponge, coral and schools of fish.

While you are out in the boat, take a trip to Farmer’s Cay and swim with the turtles and stingrays, or the secluded beaches and sandbars nearby for a picnic lunch. Guests that have the all-inclusive plan can pack a cooler lunch to carry. One of the most popular beaches for many visitors is Saddle Cay Beach and Pete’s Beach. In addition, try feeding the nurse sharks in the harbor of Staniel Cay Yacht Club if you want to see a water splashing spectacle.

Dining on Staniel Cay

Renting a golf cart or bicycle should be the first thing on your list to do when you land on Staniel Cay.

The cay is small and only offers a few restaurants, so it is easy to sample them all. The nightly dinner at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club is a full course meal. There is a separate dining room beautifully designed in a modern nautical theme. To mingle with the locals, grab a bite to eat at Taste and Sea. This Bahamian-owned, family restaurant offers fresh seafood along with other regulars, pork chop, burgers, wings, and even egg rolls. Taste and Sea is only open for a few hours a day but it is worth it. Also try Big Dog’s Restaurant and Bar. This sports bar establishment is a short walk from Staniel Cay Yacht Club. Here you can relax with a cold beverage and unwind while having a good conversation with the locals.
