Exuma Palms Hotel
Exuma Palms is an intimate, quaint hotel with just 12 rooms, offering a quiet, relaxing and private tropical vacation for families on Great Exuma. Exuma Palms Hotel sits on Three Sisters Beach, which got its name from the three rock formations directly in the ocean off the beach. It’s a favorite spot for an island wedding.
According to Bahamian lore, the beach got its name when an English captain brought his ships into port on Exuma. While there, three sisters fell in love with the handsome captain. When it came time for him and his men to set sail, all of the sisters were heartbroken. As the captain's ship sailed away, each sister tried to swim out to the ship but failed and drowned. Each time, a rock popped up from the ocean and all three stand as a monument of love. To this day, Bahamians consider the area one of good luck and romance. This is why so many couples choose an island wedding on Exuma Island and Three Sisters Beach.
Exuma Palms was built in 1984, and the restaurant was added a year later. Both were completely remodeled in 2007. The restaurant, serving three meals a day, is a favorite for guests who like to experience Bahamian cuisine, including conch chowder and fresh lobster.
