Gems at Paradise
Gems at Paradise is Bahamian owned and operated.
Gems at Paradise overlooks the picturesque harbour of Lochabar, Clarence Town with three deserted cays blocking the charming and secluded resort from the Atlantic and creating a beautiful beach. The landscape of Gems at Paradise is slightly hilly and the buildings are built to hug the topography, so tremendous views result as well as great walking trails. If you walk the beach you can end up at Lochabar Blue hole and experience great fishing from the shore. Turtles, stingrays and variety of fish are your company in the shallow water off the beach.
Guests can experience true peace of mind in these beautiful surroundings. The Native flora and fauna are preserved and fruit trees are in abundance. They can swim in crystal clear waters on fine pink tinged sand.
Lochabar is the perfect stress free getaway. The area boasts very little crime and doors can be left unlocked. Gems is nothing if not peaceful, serene and tranquil. The property is also home to great trade wind breezes that keep the heat moderate.
The property is actually a family project for an over educated housewife. Shavonne Darville, one of the principal owners, married a Long Islander in 1997. She stayed on Long Island for one month before relocating to Nassau for her career as a C.P.A. Her husband could only handle Nassau for three years. So, her family got together and brainstormed as to a possible job creation on Long Island and Gems was born from there. Gems at Paradise first opened in June 2000 with a single building containing nine rooms and expanded in December 2001 to its current size.
The owners and staff of Gems live and breathe that which makes Gems so special and appealing to visitors. You are a welcomed guest in their home, which is now yours for a week or two. Relax and enjoy the professional and 5-star hospitality provided by your new friends at Gems at Paradise.
