Designed for a relaxing and comfortable getaway for vacation, fishing and nature lovers, visitors recognize immediately that the atmosphere on the property has a soothing and inviting effect. The 9 Room Resort is spacious and comprised of four buildings including a full service Restaurant and bar. There are 6 Ocean Front/View Villas available, each having its own private garden and hot tub.
Swains Cay Resort is located on the largest untapped Bahamian Island of the Bahamas, Andros. Swains Cay is located in Mangrove Cay. It is sparsely inhabited with lush green forests and vegetation. Andros also has beautiful blue and aquamarine waters filled with marine life and mystery. Its blue holes both in the ocean and on land are fascinating. The fishing and other water sport experiences gives one an appreciation for the natural beauty of life.
The Resort is owned by a Bahamian husband and wife team and the resort was opened on 14 February, 2009.
The idea of the hotel came from a desire by one of the owners of the resort to personally improve and contribute to the development and betterment of the hospitality industry in The Bahamas. The parents of that owner worked most of their adult life, long and hard in the industry and so the dream started at an early age.
On visiting Mangrove Cay with family and friends, and searching for a proper meal which was proving difficult, the owners were introduced to a foreign couple who is currently running a small hotel near the Resort. They dined at the restaurant of that small hotel which is practically next door to the resort. It was divinely written and love at first sight when first viewing the property. It turned out that the person owning the property at the time had just told their friends that they wanted to sell the property. After 8 years of hard work, lots of money and very difficult and challenging encounters the owners are proud to move forward to contribute and complete the dream.
Their message to all is that hard work, dedication and faith in God will bring success.
